Omada 10/100 Mbps WDM Media Converter
The TP-Link Omada FC111B-20 is a 10/100 Mbps WDM media converter for converting between electrical Ethernet signals and optical fibre signals. It provides one 10/100 Mbps RJ45 port with Auto MDI/MDIX and one 100 Mbps SC fibre port. The device complies with IEEE 802.3u for 10/100BASE-TX and 100BASE-FX and supports auto-negotiation for half- and full-duplex operation.
Using WDM technology, the FC111B-20 transmits data over a single 9/125 µm single-mode fibre with a range of up to 20 km. This model transmits at 1310 nm and receives at 1550 nm. Operation requires a counterpart with reversed wavelength assignment, such as the FC111A-20, which transmits at 1550 nm and receives at 1310 nm.
The media converter can be used as a standalone device or together with the TP-Link FC1420 rack. Power is supplied by an external 5 V / 0.6 A adapter. The compact enclosure measures 94.5 × 73 × 27 mm and is specified for an operating temperature range from 0 to 50 °C. Power and Link/Act LEDs support quick status checks during installation and maintenance.

The TP-Link Omada FC111B-20 is designed for simple and cost-effective fibre extensions in 100 Mbps networks. Typical applications include IP surveillance, building-to-building connectivity, park and campus installations, wireless backhaul links and point-to-point connections between remote network segments. Thanks to WDM technology, transmitting and receiving can be handled over a single single-mode fibre, reducing fibre requirements compared with conventional duplex fibre links.
The media converter is used as a pair with a matching counterpart, such as the FC111A-20, which uses the complementary wavelengths. This makes the FC111B-20 suitable for system integrators, electrical installers, security installers and IT service providers who need to extend existing copper Ethernet links over single-mode fibre for distances of up to 20 km.
