RUT145 - Industrial Router w/ RS-485, PoE-In
The Teltonika RUT145 is a compact industrial Ethernet router designed to integrate serial RS485 equipment into IP-based networks. It provides one 10/100 Mbps WAN port and one 10/100 Mbps LAN port, together with Wi-Fi 4 connectivity compliant with IEEE 802.11b/g/n. The wireless interface supports access point and station modes with up to 50 simultaneous connections. Its native RS485 interface is accessible through a six-pin terminal block and supports both two-wire and four-wire configurations.
For industrial data communication, the RUT145 supports protocols including Modbus TCP and RTU, BACnet, OPC UA and DNP3. The Data to Server function can collect and convert information from multiple sources before forwarding it to server or cloud platforms using HTTP(S), MQTT or Azure MQTT. The OpenWrt-based RutOS platform also provides extensive routing, VPN, firewall, VLAN, QoS and network management capabilities. Integration with Teltonika RMS enables centralised configuration, maintenance, VPN access and remote administration.
Power is supplied through a three-pin terminal block accepting 9–30 VDC. The router can alternatively be powered through the LAN port using passive Mode B PoE; this functionality is not compatible with IEEE 802.3af, 802.3at or 802.3bt. Its anodised aluminium enclosure includes an integrated DIN rail bracket, measures 113.1 × 25 × 68.6 mm and weighs 140 g. With an IP30 rating and an operating temperature range from −40 to +75 °C, the RUT145 is well suited to space-constrained control cabinets and demanding industrial environments.

The Teltonika RUT145 is designed for industrial automation and IoT applications requiring existing RS485 field devices to be securely integrated into modern IP networks. Its multi-drop RS485 interface can connect controllers, sensors, meters and other serial equipment to supervisory systems and cloud platforms through Ethernet or Wi-Fi.
Typical deployment scenarios include manufacturing systems, building automation, energy and utility infrastructure, industrial metering and the modernisation of legacy serial installations. The router is particularly suitable for sites where a stable wired WAN connection is preferred and cellular connectivity is not required. Data to Server, native industrial protocol support and Teltonika RMS enable system integrators and plant operators to collect operational data centrally, configure equipment remotely and manage distributed installations efficiently.
