LoRaWAN Sensor Tag, Monitor temperature, humidity, motion and events
The MikroTik TG-LR82 is a configurable LoRaWAN sensor tag for flexible IoT monitoring tasks. It combines temperature and humidity measurement, motion sensing, event handling and local data processing in a compact device. Sensor readings can be processed locally as averages or histograms before telemetry is transmitted over LoRaWAN. This helps reduce network traffic while preserving useful information about environmental conditions.
The sensor supports multiple configuration profiles and event-based rules and can be adjusted flexibly via LoRaWAN downlinks. This enables practical automation scenarios such as changing transmission intervals when a door opens, a threshold is exceeded, motion is detected or orientation changes. The integrated magnetic reed switch supports door or lid detection and simple interaction with the device using a magnet. In addition, the TG-LR82 supports 2.4 GHz LoRa, enabling international deployments without regional frequency switching; according to MikroTik, typical range can reach around 1.5 km depending on gateway antenna and environment.
The IP67-rated enclosure is designed for outdoor applications and has been tested for ambient temperatures from -10 to +70 °C. Estimated MTBF is approximately 100,000 hours at 25 °C. The TG-LR82 is CE, EAC and RoHS certified and is supplied with a mounting bracket and screw set. Sensor data can be visualized and analyzed in monitoring platforms such as Grafana; with MikroTik RouterOS container support, dashboards can be deployed for real-time telemetry visualization and historical analysis.

he MikroTik TG-LR82 is designed for IoT and LoRaWAN applications where environmental conditions, motion and events need to be monitored over long distances. Typical use cases include warehouse and cold-chain monitoring, logistics, container and asset tracking, door or lid detection, industrial outdoor areas, buildings, research environments and distributed sensor installations. With temperature and humidity sensing as well as support for motion, tilt, orientation, impact and free-fall scenarios, the sensor can monitor a wide range of object and environmental states directly at the asset.
The TG-LR82 is particularly useful for deployments where sensors need to react based on events. For example, when a magnetic switch is triggered, the device can automatically change its configuration profile and transmit telemetry more frequently. Combined with MikroTik LoRaWAN gateways such as the KNOT LR8G kit, wAP LR8G kit or wAP LR2 kit, the sensor can be integrated into long-range IoT networks across buildings, industrial sites or outdoor environments.
