CALYX - 5G Redcap, 5G & 4G Versions for Raspberry Pi 4/5, GPIO & PCM Control
The Teltonika CALYX is an industrial-grade Embedded Cellular Raspberry Pi HAT+ designed for direct installation on a Raspberry Pi 4 or Raspberry Pi 5. Its integrated form factor reduces installation space and eliminates the need for loose USB cellular dongles or improvised external modem assemblies. Cellular data connectivity is provided through a USB Type-C interface, while the 40-pin GPIO header supports power delivery and direct hardware-level modem control.
CALYX is available in three versions. The CALYX 4G / EBD021 variant supports LTE Cat 4 with download speeds of up to 75 Mbps. CALYX 5G RedCap / EBD070 provides up to 223 Mbps over 5G Sub-6 GHz SA, while CALYX 5G / EBD050 supports download speeds of up to 3.4 Gbps for bandwidth-intensive embedded applications. Available cellular bands and achievable data rates depend on the selected variant, regional order code and mobile network.
The GPIO interface allows the host system to power on, wake or reset the modem, enabling automated recovery mechanisms in remotely deployed systems. An integrated digital PCM interface also supports clean, low-latency audio transfer between the modem and Raspberry Pi. The anodised aluminium enclosure, low 57 g weight and −40 °C to +75 °C operating temperature range make CALYX suitable for professional embedded and industrial deployments.
