On 24 September 2025, the first TRIOTRONIK Fiber Competence Day took place in Thannhausen near Weiz. What started as a new platform for professional exchange around fibre optics and FTTx technologies quickly developed into a day filled with insightful discussions, practical demonstrations, and valuable networking opportunities.
Together with attendees, speakers, exhibitors, and partners, we experienced an event dedicated to technology, knowledge sharing, and continuous learning.
By Technicians, for Technicians
The goal of the Fiber Competence Day was clear: create an event where technical topics, practical experience, and real-world challenges take centre stage.
Presentations, discussions, and live demonstrations covered a wide range of topics relevant to modern fibre network deployment. From civil engineering and fibre blowing technology to network documentation and active network operation, participants gained valuable insights into areas they encounter in their daily work.
One of the most valuable aspects of the event was the open exchange between speakers and attendees. Experiences from different projects, regions, and organizations led to engaging discussions, fresh perspectives, and practical knowledge sharing.
Hands-On Technology
In addition to the technical presentations, the practical part of the event played a key role.
At the Tech Playground, participants had the opportunity not only to see products, tools, and technologies but also to test them firsthand. From fibre splicing and cable preparation to installation techniques and measurement equipment, visitors could gain practical experience and engage directly with manufacturers and industry experts.
Networking Across the Industry
Another important focus of the Fiber Competence Day was professional networking.
Participants from different companies, organizations, and countries took the opportunity to exchange ideas, discuss challenges, and build new connections within the fibre optic industry. Numerous conversations centred around network deployment projects, technical solutions, and practical experiences from everyday field operations.
